Blooms are a specialised fluid art technique where acrylic paint is mixed with a medium, poured onto the canvas and then manipulated by blowing to send the paint across the canvas creating the flower petals.. Paint colours are added to the canvas in layers finishing with a paint incorporating a special medium to create 'cells' in the centre of the canvas to resemble flower stamens. Although it sounds straightforward it really isn't as the paint often 'goes its own way' and refuses to go where I want it to. I usually have to have several tries before I get the effects and shape I want.
