Painted in pastel, this was created as part of a challenge in an on-line art forum to explore chiaroscuro which is the effect of contrasting extremes of light and shadow in a drawing or painting. I was very pleased with the result and the experience of painting in a new way.

This would make a stunning and unusual centrepiece for a modern living or dining room.
